The story of Malabar Farms began in 1939, when accomplished author Louis Bromfield moved back to the Mansfield, Ohio area and began working on the property. By 1942 Malabar Farm was fully operational, and it has been an important part of the community ever since. Today, the farm is a popular destination for local families looking for a day of fun, along with many visitors to the Richland County area.
