How to Use the Paint Colors of the Year in Your Home | Haring Realty

If you love interior design, you're probably just as excited about this year's paint Colors of the Year as our REALTORS® are. From new spins on neutrals like Behr's Cracked Pepper and Glidden's buttery Limitless to bold hues like Krylon's Bluebird, this year's selection has something for everyone. There are also plenty of ways to mix these exciting shades into your home's decor without just repainting a room. Try a few of these top tips from our team to bring a fresh coat of paint (pun intended!) to your home's color story.

  • Use Accent Items
    Adding accent items like vases, framed prints, decorative pillows, and throw blankets to your decor is the easiest way to bring new trendy colors into your space. These items are inexpensive and can easily be removed from the room if you change your mind. We use them all the time to quickly update the design sensibilities of a space when staging our Bellville homes for sale. 

    Use accent items to experiment with the colors in a low-stakes way if you're not sure how much you want to commit to them just yet. If you can't find items in the exact color you want on store shelves, you can use a print-on-demand service to create your own in the correct shade.
