Easter Activities With Kids - Haring Realty

Easter will be here before you know it. This year, the big day falls on Sunday, April 9th. Between the candy, the eggs, and the Easter Bunny, this can be a great holiday to celebrate with your kids. Of course, there are the old standbys like Easter egg hunts and baskets, but you can also get creative with your celebrations. Our REALTORS® are excited to recommend a few fun ways to celebrate Easter with your kids.

  1. Scavenger Hunt
This is a new twist on the classic Easter egg hunt. You can print a series of cards that give your child clues as to where the next card will be hiding. For example, the first card might say, "go to the place where you eat your breakfast." The next card will give them another clue, leading them to another place. Finally, after following several hints, they will find the prize.

The scavenger hunt prize can be a toy they've asked for, a giant chocolate bunny, or even a whole Easter basket. If you have more than one child, create separate scavenger hunts for everyone to make each experience special.

  2. Color
Enjoy a quiet evening together coloring Easter-themed pages. This would be nice to do on the Saturday night before Easter morning. You can find a few printable Easter coloring pages on this website.

To make the coloring experience even more special, give your child a new set of markers or colored pencils. Proudly display their artwork on the fridge for guests to admire before Easter dinner.

  3. Make Butter Lambs
In some families, it's traditional to place a stick of butter shaped like a lamb on the table for Easter dinner. Instead of buying a butter lamb, consider making your own. This is a fun project for elementary school-aged kids.

To get started, cut about a 1-inch section off the front of the butter stick. Put it on top of the butter stick. This is essentially the lamb's head. Let the butter soften to room temperature, and then use a blunt butterknife to shape it and give it "fur." Add a clove as an eye, and enjoy.

  4. Have a Treat Countdown
Instead of giving your child a big basket of treats on Easter morning, consider giving them one treat per day for the entire week of Easter. Put each treat in a decorative bag, and label them 1-7. Let your child find the correct bag number and open it each day.

The last bag, to be opened on Easter, can contain a larger or more meaningful treat. These treats don't have to be candy, either. Some can be small toys or stickers.

  5. Make Donut Bunnies
These are a fun treat for Easter morning! Take a powdered donut and place a pink-frosted donut hole in its center. Then, use two chocolate chips to make eyes and a little black or brown frosting to draw some whiskers.

To make the ears, take two large marshmallows. Squish them into the shape of ears. You can lightly attach them to the top of the donut with some frosting or just set them above the donut on the plate.

We hope you enjoy incorporating some of these Easter crafts and activities into your spring plans. If you're still looking for Mansfield homes for sale, feel free to contact us. Our friendly agents can help guide you through the process of house hunting and making an offer on the perfect place.
