6 Mansfield Wineries
When many Americans think of wine and beer production, California comes to mind. However, Mansfield, Ohio residents know a different story.  Before prohibition, Ohio was a major wine and beer producer. While local companies don't produce nearly as much wine and beer as they did in decades past, a new generation of vintners and brewers are re-establishing lost winery and brewery traditions.

Our REALTORS® want to share information about a few of the wineries and breweries in the Mansfield area. They are important to our local economy and they provide exciting refreshment, dining, and entertainment alternatives for people owning homes in Mansfield.

  1. Cypress Cellars
    Rick Taylor opened his boutique winery in 2007. He produces Cypress Cellars wines using quality California grapes and a classic oak barrel aging process. You can sip your favorite vintage with an assortment of appetizers or flatbreads and enjoy a Brickyard Concert each Final Friday.

  2. Quarry Hill Winery
    Quarry HIll Winery is located in Berlin Heights, a scenic one hour drive from Mansfield. Winemaker, Mac McLelland established his winery in 2005 and grows Europa and Vinifera grapes on the premises. The winery offers a light food menu, weekend entertainment, and a beautiful view.

  3. 1285 Winery at Blueberry Patch
    The owners founded this local winery on a Mansfield blueberry plantation in 2014. 1285 Winery gathers grapes from the best crops nationwide along with farm fresh fruit juices to create their wines. You can enjoy your wine with a cheese plate, a rustic feta bake, or several other signature appetizers. If you have a heartier appetite, the kitchen will prepare a pasta dish or their Artisan Wood-fired Pizza.

  4. Wishmaker House Winery
    When you make the trip to Wishmaker House Winery in Belleview, you can extend your stay in an elegantly themed room. The winery is located at Wishmaker House Bed and Breakfast. The owners produce about 1,000 bottles of wine each year using grapes grown in Ohio and New York. The winery serves a seasonal menu incorporating local and in-season ingredients.

  5. Laxton Hollow Brewing Works
    The Laxton Hollow tagline is "All cask, all the time." It's 10 minutes away from Mansfield and local to brew-lovers with homes in Lexington. Laxton brews small batches of authentic ale and ages them in casks. They are proud to be Ohio's only exclusively "real ale" brewery. The brewery produces the signatures ales, Laughing Pirate, Rigsby's Grotto, Lord Badjer.

  6. Blue Barn Winery
    Blue Barn Winery in Wooster, Ohio is about a 35 minute trip from Mansfield. You'll know you're in the right place when you see the big blue barn. The winery handcrafts wines with California vinifera grapes. They don't serve food, but you're welcome to bring your own meal, chairs, and folding tables. Their patio is perfect for sipping wine while listening to live oldies rock-n-roll on Saturday nights.
