Historic Carrousel District in Mansfield
The Richland Carrousel Park breathes life into Downtown Mansfield, Ohio
Following the same path as many cities throughout the country, Mansfield, Ohio's downtown was fading. That is until The Richland Carrousel Park was open in 1991 breathing new life into its downtown retail district.
Serving as the cornerstone project for the city's renaissance project (today's Historic Carrousel District), The Richland Carrousel Park has called more than three million people to take a ride on one of its 52 hand-carved, carousel figures since its opening. It is a non-profit organization whose goal is to bring people of all ages to downtown Mansfield. After the carousel opened, one by one real estate investors began to purchase and renovate other business properties.
To further its revitalization efforts, the Downtown Mansfield, Inc. (DMI) was established to stimulate the community's economic development, improve its appearance and promote Mansfield as a great place to live, work and play.
Mansfield's Historic Carrousel District is home to restored Victorian-age buildings with tin ceilings, oak floors, brass lighting, iron fencing and beautiful courtyards. Throughout the District, you can enjoy a variety of downtown eateries.
- Savor authentically prepared Greek cuisine at Athens Greek Restaurant. While they offer a variety of Greek entrees on the menu, their gyros are most-loved by Mansfield's locals. The family-friendly restaurant is located at 41 North Main Street.
- Bring your kids, relatives and friends to the Coney Island Diner at 98 North Main Street for a King Coney, Patty Melt, Fried Bologna Sandwich, Famous Pea Salad or a banana split. The food and service are great, the portions are generous and the prices are right.
- Enjoy a crispy crust pizza or maybe a stromboli at Two Cousins Pizza Co. located at 103 North Main Street. Two Cousins Pizza Co. has been 100 percent locally owned and operated by a Mansfield resident for over 30 years.

- Find unique gift at Carrousel Antiques located at 118 North Main Street. Fans of the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" may recognize Carrousel Antiques as the locale where Red looks through the windows and sees the compass that later leads him to the Oak Tree in the movie. Carrousel Antiques is an upscale antique shop that carries all varieties of antiques.
- Get a copy of your favorite book at Main Street Books. Located at 104 North Main Street, Main Street Books plays a key role in the fiber of Mansfield's Historic Carrousel District.
- View works of art by over 75 local artists at ArtSpace, located at 106 North Main Street. ArtSpace features jewelry, ceramics, stained glass, wood, painting, leather and photography.
